What is EcoTransIT?
The Ecological Transport Information Tool (EcoTransIT) is an Internet tool that compares the environmental impacts of goods transported by different modes within Europe. EcoTransIT compares the energy consumption, greenhouse gas and exhaust emissions of freight transported by rail, road, ship and aircraft. It also takes into account intermodal transport services, the characteristics of the transported goods and the different technical standards of the vehicles.
IFB France develops its network to the South significantly (Spain and Italy)

DB Schenker Rail and SNCB join forces and launch new production company
Brussels/Berlin, December 10th 2009 - DB Schenker Rail, the freight railway company of Deutsche Bahn and SNCB Logistics today signed an agreement to establish a joint production company, named COBRA. The two railway operators join forces in order to be able to offer better quality and efficiency on the Belgian, German and Dutch routes. Moreover, COBRA permits to have a more competitive offer and strengthen the international position of both companies. COBRA will serve as a production company, so all commercial activities remain in hands of the two main operators.
IFB organises a new rail freight connection between Charleroi and Dresden (Germany) for Lannutti
Antwerp, October 15 2009 – IFB, member of SNCB Logistics and specialised in intermodal transport, invests further in the development of rail freight connections in Europe. The company recently launched a new intermodal connection between Charleroi Trimodal Logistics Center and Dresden (East Germany). The train is organised exclusively for Lannutti Glassdivision, European market leader for this type of transport and owner of the wagons. Lannutti in its turn will deliver the glass panels at its customer AGC, world leader in the field of glass production. AGC has put all its trust in Lannutti because its strategy is based on combined transport, which permits to respond to the logistic demands, with an important accent on the respect of the environment and on ecology.
Change in the management committee of Inter Ferry Boats (IFB)
Antwerp – September 1 2009 – Mr. Paul Wouters (°1962) has recently joined IFB as General Manager of the company. Paul has an extensive experience in the logistic sector and has occupied several management positions within companies like Danzas/DHL, ABX, Group 4 Securicor, Agility Logistics,… With his important international expertise and management experience, Paul has all the skills and also the determination to accompany IFB further in its profitable growth.

Antwerp – September 2009 – IFB, specialist logistic solutions for container transport and terminal manager, has taken advantage of the summer period to accomplish important improvement works to the Antwerp container terminal Main Hub, in view of a significant increase of the capacity and flexibility.

IFB connects the rail terminal Main Hub Antwerp with Rotterdam
Antwerp, June 11 2009 – IFB, member of BCargo Group and specialised in intermodal traffic, invests further in new rail connections and starts as of June 16 with a new intermodal connection between Antwerp Main Hub terminal and Rotterdam Maasvlakte (ECT Delta). In a first phase, the train will operate twice a week in each direction, with a configuration of 80 TEU.
Cooperation between the ports of Charleroi and Dunkerque
Charleroi, May 29 2009 – On May 29, Charleroi Trimodal Logistics Center has welcomed on its multimodal terminal, a first barge with a load of 27 containers of ferro-nickel coming from the port of Dunkerque.
IFB takes over commercial transport activities of TRW.
TRW becomes a commercial wagon fleet manager. IFB, a specialist in multimodal transport, will as of 1 May take over all the commercial transport activities of TRW.
