SNCB Logistics

In 2008, all companies that are active in the freight division of SNCB, were combined in one integrated group, the SNCB freight group. The purpose was to join the strengths and complementary activities of the member-companies under one strong structure with the same clear mission of offering more client-oriented services and a complete logistics solution to customers, with improved quality, productivity and cost-efficiency. In 2009, the SNCB freight group was finalised and was called SNCB Logistics. The aim of SNCB Logistics is indeed to provide stronger, broader and higher-grade rail and logistics services to customers in a liberalised European market. The group employs over 5.000 people and has subsidiaries in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Switzerland and Poland.

SNCB Logistics has the organisational capacities, the know-how, the geographical position, and the assets to become a leading provider of complete logistics solutions in Europe. Moreover, our people have the focus and drive to be among the best in the logistics industry.

Your customer oriented specialists

The commercial subsidiaries within SNCB Logistics are the unique client contacts. The three subsidiaries are: IFB for container transport and as terminal operator; Xpedys for transport of dry bulk, metal and food industry products and Rail Force for chemicals and automotive solutions, wood and paper, consumer goods, tiles and forwarding activities.They operate in different market segments and offer their customers a large variety of high-quality multimodal and door-to-door logistics services. Each company has expert teams of Account Managers whose primary goal is total customer satisfaction. Besides offering rail transport solutions, they focus on last mile operations, inland and short sea shipping, and fleet management.

Rail production

B-Cargo Operations handles the production of the train transport in Belgium and in Europe. For international transports within Europe, SNCB Logistics has concluded partnership agreements with solid, respected companies such as DB Schenker Rail, ECR, SBB Cargo and others. Furthermore the group has participations in a number of international corridor companies, together with the main European rail operators, in order to offer qualitative and cost-efficient cross-border rail transport all over Europe.

Improved quality and productivity

To ensure the quality of its services over the entire logistics chain, SNCB Logistics has implemented quality control systems at all levels of its organisation. At the same time, it has made substantial investments in IT systems to further improve vital services such as tracing and tracking, transport planning, contracting, financial management and communications.
